PM says activities underway to close gender gap, ensure inclusivity in education

Addis Ababa, June 29, 2023 (FBC) – On the occasion of the First Extraordinary Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of Educational Cooperation, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed emphasized that investments in education are key in supporting youth navigate a dynamic world.

The Prime Minister shared efforts on Education being made by Ethiopia in ensuring inclusivity.

“By investing in education, we equip our youth with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate an ever-changing world,” the Premier noted.

He said: “In Ethiopia’s efforts towards cultivating inclusivity in education provision, we are undertaking activities to ensure that the gender gap is closed and that students with special needs are considered.”

“Additionally, expanding facilities and educational services for pastoral and semi-pastoral areas; providing access to non-formal education and training programs for adults as well as ensuring tertiary education is conducive for persons with disabilities are some of our key deliverables,” the Prime Minister added.
